Benefis Healthcare Foundation

Greatest Need

Foundation Funds Many Projects through Unrestricted Dollars

Many donors to Benefis Healthcare Foundation choose to give “where the need is the greatest.” Unrestricted gifts from these valuable donors show the depth of their confidence in us, allowing us to do wonderful things to advance our mission. Benefis Healthcare Foundation’s Board of Directors determines where unrestricted gifts are best directed to help the most people.

Here are some of the ways gifts given to the “greatest need” have made a difference:

  • Funding was provided to Benefis to assist in the purchase of the da Vinci Surgical System Robot. The da Vinci system allows surgeons to perform procedures such as prostatectomies and gynecological surgeries with smaller incisions, less trauma to the body and quicker healing time.

  • Funding was provided to Eagle Mount for full scholarships for two families to attend a Movement Based Learning Workshop, a new teaching technique to help families work with their children who have special needs.

  • Benefis Healthcare Foundation provides funding each year for expenses incurred to make Think First presentations throughout Northcentral Montana. Think First is a national prevention program aimed at educating children to recognize risk-taking behavior and how to prevent injury.

  • Benefis Healthcare Foundation uses donated funds to purchase and give away free protective helmets to children of our area. They donate funding for the annual Safety First Rally as well as donated helmets this year alone to White Sulphur Springs and Belt communities, to the City Park and Recreation Department, Longfellow School, and to three Cascade 4-H Clubs for horseback riding programs.

  • Funding was provided to Neighborworks Great Falls to build reusable wheelchair ramps for community members in need.
