Benefis Healthcare Foundation Helps Fund da Vinci Surgical System
Thank goodness for the many people who give to Benefis Healthcare Foundation, telling us to use their donations to meet “the greatest needs.” Thanks to their support in recent years, we were able to recently help Benefis Health System obtain the amazing new technology called the da Vinci Surgical System.
This impressive advanced robotic system allows surgeons to perform procedures such as prostate and gynecological surgeries with smaller incisions and less trauma to the patient’s body, allowing for a much quicker recovery period. This can also translate to lower costs, something everyone likes.
For example, not long ago, a man having prostate surgery at Benefis had to stay in the hospital 5-7 days on average. A woman having a routine gynecological surgery was often in the hospital for up to 3 days. Today, both of these hospital stays can be cut by 75% or more with the da Vinci Surgical System, thanks in part to our generous donors.
It is very important to us at Benefis Healthcare Foundation to be able to report back to our donors what a difference their gifts have made.
