As you are probably aware, the government encourages financial gifts to non-profit organizations by providing some significant tax benefits when you make a gift to a qualified charity. Your gift may be made in a number of ways depending on your particular situation.

— Give to Benefis Healthcare Foundation and yourself through a gift annuity. Cash can be used to fund the annuity or if you would like to take advantage of the tax deduction for a charitable contribution and bypass some capital gain too, gift annuities can be funded with appreciated assets. — Give paid-up policies or an annual gift to cover premiums on a policy that is gifted to the Foundation. Naming the Foundation as beneficiary is another way to provide a legacy.
— Gifts of stocks and other assets that have appreciated in value can offer significant tax savings by saving capital gains tax when the asset is gifted to a charity.
